Hope Chapel Sunday Service - LIVE

This powerful message challenges us to examine what version of Jesus we're seeking in our daily lives.

Drawing from Matthew 28:1-15, we encounter the women who came to Jesus's tomb expecting to find a dead body, only to be met by an angel asking a penetrating question: Who are you looking for? The sermon explores the costly nature of faith through multiple lenses - Joseph of Arimathea sacrificing his own prepared tomb, Nicodemus bringing 100 pounds of expensive burial spices fit for a king, and the Roman guards who faced death for abandoning their posts. Each person made an investment, but the question posed to us is profound: What are we investing in? Are we approaching a dead Jesus, or are we praying to and walking with the risen King? The message draws a stark parallel between ROSC in medical terms - Return of Spontaneous Circulation, when a dead heart beats again - and the Return of the Saving Christ. Just as medical ROSC is costly but worth every cent when life returns, Jesus's resurrection was costly beyond measure. We're confronted with a choice: Are we investing in the lie that keeps us comfortable with our neighbors and family, or are we willing to pay the cost of following the risen Christ? The reality is that rejecting Jesus is an investment too - an investment in death. Following Jesus may be costly, but rejecting Him costs infinitely more.
