What does it really mean to trust God when the promise He made does not match what we can see around us? That is the question at the heart of this powerful message drawn from Romans 4:13-25. Using the life of Abraham as a lens, we are invited to examine a kind of faith that does not wait for full explanations before moving forward. Abraham was old, Sarah was barren, and yet God pointed to a sky full of stars and said, so shall your offspring be. Nothing had changed in the natural world, but Abraham believed anyway. That belief, that raw and undecorated trust, was counted to him as righteousness. The central lesson here is both simple and deeply challenging: faith is not the feeling we get after God has shown us enough evidence. Faith is trusting the character of the One who made the promise, even when circumstances offer no supporting evidence at all. We are reminded that the promise came before the law, meaning it was never about our performance in the first place. Grace was given first. The promise was given first. Our role is simply to receive it through faith and respond with obedience. For anyone standing at the edge of a promise they can barely still believe, this message is a call to hold on, not because the circumstances have changed, but because God said so.
